MARKET HOUSE

Built in 1870, the Meadville Market House is Pennsylvania's oldest market house in continual use. Located in downtown Meadville, the Market House serves as a venue for sale of area produce and products, as well as a meeting place and a link between the town community and surrounding farms. In its early days, the Market House was a place of great importance, and today it remains one of the main links to maintaining downtown Meadville's business district.

Monday & Tuesday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 

DOWNTOWN PUBLIC PARKING

The City of Meadville provides downtown public parking in surface lots, parking ramps and at on-street meters.  To inquire about monthly rental, call the City Treasurer's Office at (814) 333-3345.

Metered parking is enforced 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekdays. Reserved parking is enforced between 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., weekdays.  Parking is free in downtown lots, ramps and on streets after 5:30 p.m. weekdays, weekends and most holidays.

Note: 
At the Meadville City Council meeting held on November 5, 2014, Council approved demolition of the Mill Run Parking Garage and the construction of a new surface parking lot in its place. This action was taken because the garage is in need of extensive repairs and ongoing maintenance costs, which Council deemed prohibitively expensive.  Demolition and replacement with a surface lot is believed to be the most cost effective plan.   Demolition will begin in April 2015 with an anticipated November 2015 completion date.    For more information, call the City Treasurer’s Office at (814) 333-3345.
