Fire

The Meadville Fire Department is an all-hazards emergency response organization responsible for Fire, Rescue, and EMS within the City of Meadville. The Meadville Fire Department provides Mutual Aid to well over 70 square miles to surrounding communities. The Full Time members of the Fire Department operate under the CBA of IAFF Local 515.

The Fire Department command structure operates with a Fire Chief, a Deputy Fire Chief/EMS Coordinator, 3 Captains, 3 Lieutenants, 6 Full Time Firefighters, and 5 Full Time Paramedics as well as part time firefighters and paramedics. Minimum daily staffing is 5 with a shift being assigned 1 Captain, 1 Lieutenant, 2 firefighters, and 2 Paramedics.  The department responds to over 2,500 runs annually. To accomplish their mission, the fire department has a fleet of a rescue engine, a ladder/quint, an EMS Squad, 3 ambulances (ALS), and 2 Chief Vehicles.

The mission of the Meadville Fire Department is to provide a high level of fire prevention, protection, and EMS service to the residents of Meadville. The department prides itself on its commitment to continued training and education, ensuring that its level of service is always in-step with the most up-to-date methods and practices.
