Public Works

The City of Meadville Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvements of:

  • 232,000 ft. of paved streets
  • 49,000 ft. of brick streets
  • 100+ acres of parks, playgrounds. & greenspace
  • 195,000 ft. of stormwater infrastructure
  • 70+ vehicles & equipment machines
  • Thousands of signs, road markings, & public amenities
Additionally, Public Works oversees the mowing of City property, tree trimming, maintaining engineering records & City maps, street sweeping, fall leaf collection, rapid response for all snow, ice, another inclement weather emergencies & conditions, trash collection & recycling,  maintenance of municipal buildings, and the stormwater system. Public Works also plays a significant role in the daily operation of other City departments and works extensively with the Planning and Zoning Department.
